@Furpo2....Yes to a degree. as you would know: Kumusta ka = Como esta. Plus English, plus some local languages.
Linguistically I would regard it as a "Creole". Inasmuch as; people grow up with it as their first language, and a lifetime language. They tried to formalize it a little, as Filipino, but I think that has failed.
Incidentally. I was involved in the production of the Tok Pisin Bibel. Another Pidgin which has become a Creole too. Mix of German, English, Tolai (Tinata Tuna), and Malay. I find languages and linguistics fascinating, and it is a hobby of mine,
