Turbines froze. Gas pipelines froze. Water meant to be piped to nuclear power froze. Coal stockpiles froze over and transportation of coal was disrupted.
The solution is not to ban wind or nuclear or coal or gas electricity generation. It is to weather-proof it for extreme cold and extreme heat.
Did you know it snows in Scandinavian countries? And guess what - they have massive amounts of wind power. They weather-proof their electricity generation. So it doesn't break down.
