they argue that insulin turns carbs into fat.
protiens like meat have few carbs
some plant foods have more carbs than others
eg a banana is higher than an apple
the number of carbs is called the GI index
High carb ( or high GI) foods include rice, pasta, potato and low carb ( or low GI) foods include lentils, peanuts, oranges
the more carbs you eat eg sugar, rice, alcohol etc the more insulin you produce the fatter you get.
the more protiens and low carb foods you eat the lower your insulin levels and less weight you will put on
Seems to make sense to me
