I guess I read praetorian's post hastily.....He quite obviously knows that the Highbury does its job with or without the onboard charger.....He meant the Highbury is more expensive & "will not be sold" until car manufactures force people to use it by removing the onboard charger.....But this ignores that V2G will likely be almost mandatory for grid stability with the expected future mass EV adoption.
V2G is a win win for utilities & car owners......The "expensive" price of the Highbury (among others) will more than welcome by both parties because of its enormous benefits.
Regardless.....It was an incorrect statement to say that there is no market for a certain product just because there is a cheaper "old school" alternative.
