Firstly, I am not lamenting the existence of the FIFO's, just identifying their existence and observable habits. My lament I guess is that LTH's are pre-occupied by SP shenanigans caused by shorter term players trading the news flow, when we all know that it is irrelevant for the long term. There will come a time when the fundamentals will no longer be news flow but either known contingent or proven resources with attached details on flow rates, decline factors, development and extraction costs and a POO more pertinent to our production timeframe.
Indeed, I am glad that the FIFO's are around as they attract the DT's who together create enough awareness of our company that when the time comes for the real fundamentals to start singing, there will be a broad (partially educated) audience.
So not sure we want to dissuade them...and even if so, don't think consolidation of shares does diddly squat. It's not the number of shares that matter but the market cap.
