Hi jantimot
I'd favour a revamp of the system so that businesses, as a business, pay no tax
The problem with this statement is that there are so many businesses which take a lot from the countries assets and give nothing back, in this day and age you can have a company with minimal staff but huge turnover and profits.
So why should we allow them to operate within our boundaries if the country does not benefit more than half a dozen jobs?
I think you'll find that the multi-nationals are in full accordance with the letter of the law.
No doubt you are correct, but are the laws correct? and I point to my last comment, what does the country get out of it
If anyone is going to invest any money they have to answer one vital question first ---What am I getting out of it?
Because apart from a some philanthropic venture you only get involved in a project if you get a return.
