Like you I have limited knowledge of drilling, but I think that now they have put a production pipe , they cannot now drill any more on the current horizontal, the production pipe is smaller then a drill pipe ( and drill bit) , so if they wanted to drill the balance of the 700m they will have to do another horizontal using the same vertical, (and 230 m of that is possibly wasted) or move the rig and drill from another direction.
