Given the region, is it plausible that MA370 landed for a quick partial refuel sometime after going awol so as to be airbourne for longer than considered possible and thus beyond the area that no doubt will be scoured over the weeks ahead?

Not sure if the boeing data received from the plane's engines after going awol gives altitude ... if it does and if the pinging times were known and say hourly then landing, refuelling and geting back to cruising altitude could be done in that timescale imo.
