I've done some quick research and "uncovered" this piece of gold history.
"The greatest amount of gold from the smallest amount of quartz was from Paxton's Mine, Hawkins Hill, 1872. Two tons of quartz was officially crushed at the Vickery Stamper Battery with the recorded yield being 4,200 ozs."

The following passage records the grades of some selected parcels of ore from Paxtons Hill.
"Hurley and Moore crushed 64 tons for 1145 ounces, Creighton and Beard 48 tons for 1135 ounces, Paxton 137 tons for1726 ounces and Beyers and Holtermann 22 tons for 2341 ounces."

I've converted all of this data to oz/metric t to get some consistency. The historic grades in order are.
2,060oz/t
17.5oz/t
23.2oz/t
12.4oz/t
104oz/t
Paxtons/Hawkins Hill has produced some spectacular grades in the past and it will be interesting to see the grades HEG produce from what they themselves describe as, "highly significant ore sources".
