I did not grow up in the area, but I spent a lot of holidays fossicking and playing around the old tailings dumps of Wallaroo and Moonta Mines and working on my uncle's farm. The risks to the environment are real and it is important that these issues are addressed. There will be a hit on the bottom line but that is a small concern compared to the hit of no mine. I would prefer a delay that gets a better outcome for all stakeholders than a 'fast track' approach that ignores the complexities of the location.
