Here is something to think about.

The Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power station is being built in the UK at a cost of $A50 billion.  It is a joint venture involving EDF as well as the Chinese.

It is going to put out a huge amount of power, (according to this article), more than they need.

The solar and wind energy companies are already screaming, but no mention of wave, (probably because there isn't any yet).

"This means force-feeding 26GW of new baseload capacity into a market which already recognises that its current baseload capacity of 26GW (of coal power) is around one-third more than it needs."

Two things about this concerns me:

    1. Having all that nuclear power, (subsidised heavily by the UK government), will make it hard for any other type of energy player to get into the market.

    2. EDF have the northern hemisphere licence for ceto.  Are they going to go head to head between two of their own ventures (nuclear and wave energy), in the same market?
