Hi all.
I am putting up this thread for and on behalf of my mother in-law .
She had both hips replaced with Smith and Nephew Birmingham implants , which failed and has since had revision surgery .[removed and replaced .4 x hip replacement]
She has had a fairly severe dose of Cobalt poisoning which has and continues to debilitate her . Ongoing problems are likely as a result of organ damage.
The second revision also included removal of stem from bone as the surgeon could see visual contamination.
Without getting to indepth re her procedures ,she wants to pursue legal action as a result of her condition.
There is a class action with Shine lawyers and Maurice and Blackburn who are pursuing Johnson and Johnson , which has a similar metal on metal product that has caused similar problems if not identical.
J and J product was more popular and not so Smith and Nephew
,so the Lawyers are not pursuing as such. Overseas lawyers in America and Britain are .
Not sure of next move . If there are any suggestions or recommendations it would be appreciated. Regards Russell
