I actually attended a two day conference Dr Bessel van de Kolk, Mind Medicine associated, several weeks ago.

Very interesting, big days.
Including footage observing guided therapy with Psilocybin , severe PTSD military veterans, post- Afghanistan. Wow .

He did say and it is very serious treatment- hypnotherapy, medicinal cannabis etal, dance / active acting out, groups, many other therapies to consider first . Practices such as yoga, movement and exercise etc.

But the results profound - where truly appropriate.
Enduring enlightened move forwards and leaving traumas behind - for patients who experience the treatment well.

Only once, with many months pre experiential care and framing , and followup talking/ therapy sessions x a few maybe.

Albeit very expensive care and needs serious training as people can have very morbid reactions and actually terrifying experiences if they don’t have a good personal outlook and sense of self and able to gain degree positivity wrt selves , before the actual treatment experience is done.

Anti- depressants don’t work.
Or “talking”, or many ideas of conventional therapy and management.

Depends on many things- but true post -traumatic extreme stresses, cases, amazing relief and pathway to move forwards and be Ok.

I think military personnel and emergency services personnel- veterans in the US and here, be main impetus for approvals and advancement.
Obviously many people suffer and extreme lack of efficacious treatment for worst sufferers, and ongoing need for care at expense governments, & terrible suicide rates.
Significant.
Is true brain trauma, & sure many people understand that can’t easily ‘treat’ somehow or people just be positive, physiologically they have harmed brains.
Going to be interesting see what is about tomorrow.

I think still a long pathway ahead.
Where indicated or where people do receive treatment psychedelics- truly need very well- trained people to guide them and care for them through the 24hours or so treatment all up.
