Have been searching the net to find out more about the Gondwana comet project just south of Marble Bar.....

Some rather large gold nuggets have been found over the years around marble bar and the comet gold mining district....

At Shaw's Falls the 333 ounce 'Little Hero' nugget was found. Shark Gully was the location for the 413 ounce 'Bobby Dazzler' and in 1899 the 332 ounce 'General Gordon' was discovered.

The historic gold mine at comet is now a tourist information centre. During the war, the corunna downs airfield was constructed to allow the airforce to launch attacks on the japanese.
