Last 3 million years? That is around 0.075% of Earth's history. They do it all the time though. Floods in Qld, flap arms, proof of AGW etc, I was at the Gympie mining museum the other day. There's a huge sign with all the flood heights marked going back to the last century and the last couple were nothing special. And that is only a hundred and something years out of 4 billion.Aarrrrggggghhh!!!!
Anyhow, looks like the CAGW story is dead on its feet, the only thing keeping it from falling down is the financial entanglements produced by the madness.BTW, there's an interesting book around called Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds. Charles Mackay is the author and he simply notes the various manias throughout history, Tulipmania, South Seas bubble etc. It's a quite old book I think, at least a hundred years. Perhaps it will need a revision to include this latest one.People will look back in a hundred years and scratch their heads and just laugh at us the same as we laugh at those who paid more than a houseprice for a tulip at the height of that particular social madness.
Judging by the level of activity here on the S&M, it seems that everyone is all talked out about the CAGW story. It's getting like that in the broader community I'd say too. Time for a new scare.....
