The field was initially worked between 1851 and 1910, with most activity during the late 19th century. Recorded production is 5.3 tonnes of gold, but it is apparent from early reports that the actual production, particularly from artisanal workings, was significantly greater. Historically reported head grades from Mines Department records were in the order of 25 g/t to 30 g/t.

The NSWGS identifies 80 lode gold deposits within the Project area, which includes 43 historical mines and numerous alluvial gold workings.

Honestly I have seen so many other companies that choose ground which has 1-3 old Gold workings but not 43 in just one area, that's simply AMAZING !!!!

And interestingly, Kaiser Reef’s new ground has “probably the densest amount of gold workings of anywhere in New South Wales”, while Cadia sits in number two spot
no one’s ever tested it for a big intrusive gold play, which I just find is staggering,” he said.
