Ironically the SP went up today with the news coming out, so let’s not jump to conclusions here before the company officially addresses it (if they feel it is necessary to do so).
The money being mentioned is potentially quite large (for our small company), especially for simply introducing and facilitating a deal. If for whatever reason we are not legally obliged to pay it (or only a portion), than we should definitely argue.
That said, IMO it’s not particularly professional for any employee (past or present), or current shareholder, to publically comment in such a way that may be used by a litigator against us. If he wants to assist his historical shareholder base (which includes me!), JH may in future be better off declining comment to reporters on anything which may potentially damage the company…
