Sydney - Monday - July 30: (RWE Australian Business News) -
Carrick Gold Ltd (ASX:CRK) says it has received "excellent results" from
a shallow (60 metres) RC drilling program at its Grey Dam Nickel Project
at Kurnalpi, about 90km northeast of Kalgoorlie.
Drillhole GDRC15 returned 5 metres at 1.71pc nickel including 2
metres at 2.4pc nickel from a depth of 20 metres.
GDRC11 returned 15 metres at 1.36pc nickel from a depth of 4
metres.
The recent drilling has shown the presence of a relatively thick
(20m to 30m) north-south trending iron-nickel oxide layer of
mineralisation.
This thick layer overlying a rich serpentinised olivine-rich
unit of the ultramafic is interpreted to be the core of a fault zone or
structural zone where the west-northwest ultramafic stratigraphy has
thickened and where the location of a nickel sulphide ore deposit may be
found at depth.
