The hole drilled in 2014 was a “stratigraphic hole”. Meaning that it was not testing a specific target for mineralisation – it was designed to give an understanding of the sequence of rocks that occur in the area. March 2014 QR: “….to drill a deep (at least 600m) hole in the north-west corner of the lease, running parallel to the western boundary, with the objective of generating geological and geotechnical information about the rock types and structural controls in the part of the lease closest to Sandfire’s Conductor 5 orebody.”

Summary; it was not intended that hole would hit mineralisation. Its aim was to improve understanding of the geology and rock types - of which it did.

Might also want to add that on the 31 May 2011 RNI announced the following about drilling planned for E52/2438 (the tenement immediately below Red Bore that hosts the Cuba target): “ANN on 6 April 2011, the RNI Board has approved an extensive 950-hole drilling program at Doolgunna, which will focus on 24 priority VHMS copper-gold and vein-style gold targets. The drilling program will include RC and diamond holes to a depth of up to 500m”.

Subsequently, on 29 November 2011 they then reported the results of the first 376 drillholes (27,000m) of that 950-hole prgm.

The best result out of all that drilling was 9m at 2,432ppm copper (that’s 9m at 0.24% Cu).

Conclusion; could be drawn suggesting that one deep hole, albeit one that didn't hit mineralisation and wasn't targeted to, does not mean there isn't a potential.
