That info re ceres is interesting. Have any of you had a looked at the 17 min presentation on their website. It's impressive and shows the potential of fuel cell technology deployed in domestic situations. It's good marketing for the sector generally not just ceres. But it does show how much closer to market Ceres are than CFU. Ceres have developed a fully integrated product with their own fuel cell and they can demonstrate how it works. I have not seen anything like this from CFU. CFU is dependant on all of their partners developing end use products and this does not appear to have happened yet.

While it is impressive, Ceres' presentation highlights that their unit produces less than a kilowatt and I suspect that most domestic situations have a "resting" consumption rate greater than that. In the demo they simply run some lights and a plasma. When the kettle is turned on the grid supplies the power. But the seamless nature of its operation is very impressive.

CFU's high efficiency 2 kw unit seems a better fit, but there is clearly an issue about the size of the unit and its location in the home.

Clearly Ceres are having some issues. Hopefully this gives CFU and its partners are chance to gain some ground with the ready-to-go products. I gather that CFU's fuel cells have been subject to more field trials than the Ceres product and that CFU's products have shown reliability which is now an issue for Ceres. Does anyone know if I am right on this?
