Hi parmenio, sorry for the delay in responding, I have been pretty busy...
ok, to your questions....
Be a little careful in comparing the rock chip samples PLV announced to the market in April 2007 to the Cadia Ridgeway mine. Pluton announced grades of UP TO:
1oz/t gold 2.7kgs/t silver 4.1% copper 63% lead 12% zinc
These were the BEST grades from 144 samples systematically taken over 1 metre intervals from within and around the historic Devon Mine. The Devon mine would have been a very high grade mine that, we believe, was fed from what we think is a large porphyry beneath the mine. It would be wrong to compare these rock chip samples to Cadia ridgeway's porphyry. The porphyry will be lower grade than the Devon mine (we believe) but will have nmany more tonnes. Remember porphyries tend to be low grade, bulk tonnage targets.
What would meet our expectations from the drilling commencing at Devon next week?
Firstly we want to prove it is a porphyry,
Secondly we want to find this porphyry is mineralised, and
Thirdly we hope to get some decent copper/gold results.
It would be fair to say that if we had grades similar to Cadia Ridgeway we would be over the moon.... Remember though that Cadia Ridgeway was not found in the first set of drillholes. My understanding, and I stand to be corrected, is that it took over 100 drill holes to find and evaluate Cadia Ridgeway to prove it as a cash cow.
we are in the early stages of what we hope may be a porphyry similar to that of Cadia Ridgeway.
What would make me drool?
How about some nice sections of, say, 10-20 metre intervals averaging 1.5% copper and 4g/t gold.
What grade would exceed our most fantastic and sordid dreams?
I would say finding another Cadia Ridgeway.... that is a few hundred metres of caore with Cadia grades.
I'll leave the answer to MGX alone, I note that fishfinder has answered it.
In response to what publications I like.... I don't want to advertise for any of them, and different readers will have different views of them.... however, I do like Paydirt and the Mining Cronicle best. Plenty of others are also very good... try ResourceStocks for example.
I have no problems with the amount of questions I get... the more the merrier I say! As usual though somnetimes I have to ponder an answer a little because I have to be careful with what I disclose.
Regards, Tony.
