but in reality, the changes are pretty fast - they are merely glitter shows now. One royal nutter in any of the good ones that are still about - and, they'll go the way of most

I would agree that some kind of show pony figurehead can be stabilising ----- but they have to be either thinking countries or the head of state be very special. QEII was a standout.
Charles will be ok probably - but, not of the same calibre, that's impossible for a late starter - after that? well it'll be interesting.
