Raider, I read in today's west that Abbott will consider making PPL conditional on the women returning to work. Well not sure how that would work, would they be forced to refund the money if they didn't? Obviously there would be circumstances where women can't return to work.
There is also the argument that high paid women don't need additional incentive to go back to work.
There is mention that there are more than a few in the coalition that don't support PPL and if Abbott manages to get the greens on side it would only take 5 of them to cross the floor.
All this tough talk on the needs for cuts and yet wanting to spend $5.5billion per year on PPL just doesn't make sense.
