IMO Australia is currently very poorly served by both the Govt. & the Opposition. IMO both are on the nose:
. Julia Gillard's actions have been all over the place - after many months we are still waiting for her to reveal 'the price on carbon'.
. IMO Tony Abbott is trying to perpetrate a massive con-job on the electorate - past comments indicated that he was a bigtime climate change denier, yet he would have us believe he would actually do something to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
I remain deeply concerned about Abbott's 'direct action' policy & even his slogan of choice - expert reports have repeatedly rated it as expensive & ineffectual.
IMO Abbott's 'direct action' is just a great big taxpayer gift to big polluters. IMO its real aim is to sensationalise, to inflame & to divide the community.
