Last xmas we were leaving a restaurant after having lunch and had all got into the car when my better half yelled "stop, you are going to hit that car behind us". I said "no we aren't" as I watched what was going on in my rear view mirror. In a panic she continued to insist if I didn't stop "we were about to hit them". I then informed her that I hadn't yet started the engine and the handbrake was still on so the likeihood of us hitting anything was somewhat remote. In retrospect I should have just applied the break anyway to keep her happy because being right and getting the best outcome are two very different things. I live and learn.
