I had a silly question if anyone may know the answer - do ‘special deals’ exist?
I am hoping the presence of the fund ( if it doesn’t cause RG to abandon his takeover plans altogether ) will cause RG to raise his offer to a much fairer amount that ALL of us would receive if he reaches 90% ownership and compulsory acquisition.
However assuming the fund is able to accumulate the 5% shares that RG needs. I assume RG would need to let the takeover offer expire first. Could he then offer to pay the fund a large above market value amount for all of their shares ( for example $3 per share. ) And then upon reaching 90% compulsorily acquire the rest of our shares at market value only? ( currently $0.90 ). Does anyone know if these kind of ‘special deals’ are allowed?
