No surprise, Influenza (Spanish Flu) still kills people after a century. Covid-19 is more contagious than Influenza and no matter how long they continue to venture down this path of lockdown and foolishly talking about elimination, Covid-19 will be with us for decades. Because of long incubation periods and the high percentage of asymptomatic cases, New Zealand is fooling itself if it thinks it has beat it. Unless they are going to close their borders indefinitely to all international travellers, like Arnie Schwarzenegger, it will be back.
Instead of isolating and treating the sick, Scommo has delivered record debt, record unemployment, unprecedented closures of both small and big business. He has also delivered increases in domestic violence and suicides. These avoidable consequences have affected both young and old. Thankfully Covid-19 has not delivered the 140,000 deaths forecast by our "doomsdayer" medical experts but only a little over 100 (many already with old and sick) after more than 6 months. The global death rates back in March showed this virus was never going to be a "Spanish Flu" and 140,000 Australians were never going to die.
What we have left now is a cripple country both financially and mentally and Covid-19 is still amongst us. Forget the hyperbole "pull together" and elimination" Covid-19 is here to stay and like SAR's it is proving very hard to deliver a vaccine.
Australia must stop this futile battle against this invisible virus. It's time to concentrate on treating the sick but more importantly restore the finances and health of its healthy citizens, which is approx 99.9% of the community, before our way of life and our kid's futures are destroyed for decades.
Our medical experts have called this wrong and must man up and admit their mistake. Now is not the time to be stubborn try and justify their actions.
After 7 months now and more like a year, there has only been 567,000 deaths worldwide with most victims already past their life expectancy and suffering with terminal illnesses. The laws of probability put forward a very good case that the majority of the poor souls that are reported Covid-19 victims would have been part of the "normal" death rate of 150,000 people that die in the world each and every day.
For those readers that are genuinely scared of Covid-19 ending the world and wiping out humanity, despite the 567,000 deaths of people that died WITH Covid-19, the work population continued to grow at an unsustainable rate of approx 50 million people over the last 7 months. In real terms, we have added another 2 Australian populations to the world during this pandemic.
Covid-19 is no threat to the future of mankind, but the actions of our leaders are.
