The human body is an amazing creation. If we are exposed to viruses we build up a resistance to it with antibodies.
If we cut ourselves, we grow scar tissue, tougher skin in that area to protect against further cuts.
If we are constantly exposed to negativity, we build up a resistance to that as well, and it loses its effectiveness.
Just like in that old story "The boy who cried wolf". If you keep hearing the same thing, over and over, you just choose to ignore it.
