    Interesting response. She clearly misses the whole irony of the ad. Australia has moved a long way since the 1970's when she left the country. Then there was a real cultural cringe and such ads were perhaps a true reflection of local thinking. It has gone full circle over the past 30 years and now we can rationalise this type of ad as a "throw back" to the past car culture and have a laugh.

    I suggest these long term Aussie expats take a closer look at the current Aussie scene and not past judgement based on a flying visit. Whilst I respect Greer's contribution to women's rights she is now past her "use by date" and I concur with Gyro ...an angry old woman!
