GMH said today that no amount of money from the Guvnuts would have saved Holden.
IMO our problems started with Hawke/Keating reform process in the 1980's. In hindsight, the car industry was doomed from then on - it was just a matter of time.
It would have been good for the Guvnuts to have said that there may be unintended consequences and one of these may be that we lose the motor vehicle industry. But, of course, the Guvnuts NEVER consider the unintended consequences of their actions!! We the people pay the price down the track!
