    Yes but you are remembering an Australia before we became a nanny state with a million rules and regulations that are supposed to keep us safe.
    When we went to the drive in pictures fifty years ago about ten of us would travel on a flat bed truck. At the drive in we would reverse into the back row and all lie on mattresses on the tray of the truck.
    There is no freedom in this country anymore which is one reason many youngsters head to SE Asia to have some fun where the rules, or lack of them, are much like it was here up until several decades ago.
    At least I see most of the local kids where I live don't bother with a helmet when riding their push bikes. A small act against the little Hitler's in our governments who cook up all these laws so they can fine us when we don't follow the stupid things. But children with no money can give them the finger.
