You say that the DRC is the riskiest country on the African continent - do you have a source for this?
My own research suggests that is not so and that soveriegn risk is rapidly declining in the DRC. For example, Business monitor (www.businessmonitor.com 12 May 2003) recently released a reported entitled "Economic Analysis - A New Beginning?" and goes on to say that "The DRC has made significant progress in stabilising the macroeconomic environment." Their view is that "The establishment of a broad-based transitional government should help to reduce the political instability that has so far hampered policy implementation, leading us to expect further economic growth this year."
In my view, the "get tough" attitude by the UN in the North-East can only help.
... but we all need to keep an open mind so I would welcome any other analysis you might have about political or economic risks in the DRC.
