BB, fear not. I've lost 25% of my portfolio in the past 3 months. Should have liquidated my positions mid year but stayed in now i'm in for the long haul. My supposed "safer" investments in reit's all tanked 30-50%. I had about 30% of my portfolio in reit's thinking it was a safer bet but got sub-primed.

What had been some of the safest and least risky investments in the market - property trusts - became the absolute worst.

Then there's shares Fat Prophet's reckoned were good buys, IAG, SUN and RJT. All down some 20-40% from where I bought them.

Paper losses I know and I continued to hold but if I liquidated as of right not I'm off 25%.

The market giveth and the market taketh. I'm going to keep holding in the opinion they will turn around but you need strong nerves for shares.
