Remember the short seller have to cover their position sometime in the future, they will only win if you follow them and sell at a loss (which I imagine most people who are selling out of fear at this price are) to them at a lower price. Short seller can't sell at market but only at Limit or the last tranaction price. If the buying momentum builds up, they will be forced to cover back their short position. You saw how fast the price went above .40c the last time momentarily.
Remember the short seller have to cover their position sometime...
