Plenty of ideas already floated: use CNB existing work as a guide and dig an intercept on any of a number of leads, dig more than one set of holes in one site before running off somewhere else, have some focus on what it is you are looking for.
Sometimes instead of asking if violence is inherent in the system you have to start asking if there's a system inherent in the violence.
Hypothetically it could be with the same with HMX and the point is not to find pay dirt but to keep getting paid to search the dirt.
