As a general rule, yes, drillers work ( in shifts) usually 24/7 and as far as public holidays are concerned there is usually at least one break for Xmas/NY. Drill rigs need to be fully utilized, on-site, even if not drilling it costs money as rigs are contracted. In a nutshell, time = money
