AUT is part of an index now and it will be hit by selling of the index regardless of fundamentals.
The outlook for electricity generation using gas must be improved. That is particularly so in the US because a UK evening paper showed radioactive fallout likely to cross the US at high level (Jet Stream) and that will really spook the US regardless of how slight the radiation might be.
Make no mistake, I'm not cheering. The guy who authorised the siting of those reactors within reach of a 30ft wave should be stuffed down one of their active volcanoes. In fact, the building of fission reactors in such a seismically active area is pretty reckless and shows little consideration for other nations that might be harmed by a release of radioactive material.
Japan needs to replace the generating capacity and the most efficient and safest means would be, probably, a combined cycle gas turbine. Ditto the US with such a large, secure supply of shale gas. Carbon capture technology can make it greener.
