In regard to China let's draw a simple analogy. China is the parent feeding the fat and spoilt kid candy. China is the guilty parent in all this. Why have China been buying US bonds for so long. Because they thought is was easy money, risk free. Why does the parent feed the kid candy, because it's easy, rather than having to deal with a screaming kid.
The similarities in human behavior throughout completely different walks of life is fascinating.
