I dont think he plans to take the company over , not in the short term anyway .
It makes no sense for him to own 40% then ask for another 20% on top and then run it into the ground by doing nothing and keeping the share price low so he can take it over on the cheap , it just wont work , he has a JV partner to satisfy therefore progress must be made as soon as possible especially if Rabon are going to fund it .
I think it makes more sense for him to get as much as he can or as much as FIRB will permit which is 60% , then he can use his connections and experience in the UAE and build the company up as quickly as possible and eventually down the track sell his stake to the highest bidder , that would be his exit plan .
In one of the recent interviews he mentions the current market cap of 3DA and says something along the lines of " it will look very different in a year or 2 " . So my take is that he will give it his all and turn 3DA into a $1billion dollar plus company , at which point he will exit and sell to maybe the JV partner or the highest bidder , so basically 10 times his money from where it is now , thats a decent return over 1-2 years .
Just my 2 cents worth .
