Indeed, he came on a donkey to convey humility. Christ could have come into Jerusalem on a supernatural vehicle, flagged by thousands of angels to destroy the Romans, but instead chose to ride on a donkey to signify He came in peace and wanted people to take His path, one of humility and servitude.
