As per my perusing of the quarterly report issued 30/01/09, the reserves you stated are gross. Since MEL own only 85% of PEL16, the net numbers are 2P - 253PJ, 3P - 1307PJ, and GIP 424PJ.
As for the land area, this is the breakdown of land area for each of the entities, as you can see this is an area that MEL does not stack up with its competitors.
Land area:
PES - 32,400 square km's
ESG - 18,265 square km's +
MEL - 6,000 square km's
