very enlightening points and greatly appreciated.
It seems to me that breaking before term with such high penalties
would defeat any benefit that may have been derived by a low variable
depending of course on length of term remaining, size of penalty
and other related costs and fees against the difference in interest savings
between fixed high and variable low, over the remaining period of the original fixed.
