It seems there was an aggressive over-reaction with several people involved in beating the man with weapons, including a metal pole .... partially understandable but absolutely not acceptable

But perhaps the intruder's words were still ringing in Hussain's ear.
....."Hussain was told that he would be killed."
I suppose he just wanted to make sure the intruder didn't come back and carry out his threat!
