As to why her name wasn't placed on the tennancy agreement is a mystery. I gather that if it had been then she would be allowed to stay. She is the wife. As you've stated, common sense isn't prevailing here.
Some days I wish I was a rich retired lawyer to take these cases pro bono. The DDT issue needs addressing.
