It if the evidence says that children in same sex households are worse off than those in heterosexual households, then as a society we wouldn't want to legislate for more children in these family structures.
If SSM is passed, do you think there will be more or less children (then we already have) in same sex households? If the answer is "more" then it can't be a good thing from the kids point of view.
