A few years ago, the US put a motion to the UN that the Uighur communities should be inspected by the UN. China accepted this and offered to provide an extensive tour of the Uighur communities under the auspices of the UN, inviting US representatives to attend and speak freely to the locals. The USA then objected to the offer by China and refused to take part.

One has to ask: Why did the US do such an about-face?

Lots of selected western "news" sources make accusations. This does not necessarily make them true. Do you remember the stories about how the Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait and bayonetted babies in the hospitals and threw them on the floor?. Well it was on all the western news sources, but it all turned out to be untrue and fabricated by the Kuwaiti royal family. I am not saying that you are wrong, but I just take a very cautious view of "news" these days.

Kuwait we are told is a democracy, but when the parliament questioned the Emir in 2017, he dissolved parliament and ruled by decree. Now that is a democracy that Trump would enjoy.
