Back to the problem that u mentioned in the post: the time leg.
I think it depends on the period u focus on:
If u look at the daily chart: based on the formula- normally it use end day price . As a result, you only can see in the next day.
But if combined with 2 hours , 4 hours chart. It might helo to reduce the time leg issue i guess
