@SmugLex Thanks for the links, which I have reviewed with my wife. I would not have considered ETF's, but I can see how they would fit nicely into the kind of portfolios our family is developing. We have 2 members in pension and 3 (soon to be four) in accumulation, so we need to talk to our accountant about making that work for the super fund, but we will look to invest some money from the fasmily trust next week, as soon as the pricing looks right, into VAS. We quite like the folksy style of Tracey Edwards, who seems to have a very sensible attitude towards investing. I think that at this stage we can do better than an index ETF. Recent weeks have been rewarding with IO, EV and Battery Tech stocks, but for a somewhat 'set and forget' investor, doing as well as the ASX300 (index weighted) looks interesting.
