IMO, I suspect MrH is not too far off the mark in terms of the calculation process. Of course investor sentiment can trump all that, particularly in the short term. Nonetheless, the assumptions behind MrH's calculation include a 13Bnbbo resource (I think). This is the bit which is still an unknown, we've only heard rumours to this point. Impact will have a much better idea than any of us, so if that number is actually lower than 13Bnbbo, then the deal value (if it remains the same as reported; US$1.5-2Bn) would increase on a per barrel basis. I posted a comment with a link on the other current thread which described comments by the Total CEO, telling everyone to calm down and not believe the rumoured numbers just yet. He suggested the resources being quoted may be for the area, not the prospect. Weirdly, that would be a good thing for the PCL SP calculation.
