ASX disclosure requirements will trump the preference of a major. A deal here may not be considered material to the share-price of a major, but certainly would be for PCL. As such PCL, under ASX rules, would have to make an announcement. Farmin agreements have confidentiality clauses with wording that allows stock market releases. The incoming partner might have to approve the release, but they couldn't withhold that approval unduly.
